Amy Smart is an American former model and actress. She was born in California USA, Amy Smart began her modelling career there. Her acting career started in 1996 when she starred in the TV film Her Costly Affair. Following a long and difficult battle to get a part, she was offered a role as "Starship Troopers" starring in Starship Troopers. She struggled with the transition into acting since models weren't considered an actor, so they generally were offered less parts. Amy didn't give up, and eventually she landed bigger roles in the films Varsity Blues and The 70s. Amy then moved into leading parts in 2005's romantic comedy Just Friends starring Ryan Reynolds. The film was a major film at the box office and Amy was finally able to get the recognition that she was trying for for more than a decade. She continued with major films such as the Crank series starring Jason Statham and the series Shameless where she played an adored recurring character.
