Amy Smart was an American model as well as actress. She was born in California USA, Amy Smart began her modeling career there. Her first acting role was in 1996's TV production Her Costly Affair. The struggle she had to get a part for Starship Troopers, a film which featured only minor characters, was very intense. It was a hard time for her to make the transition from modeling to acting since the models were never considered to be good actors and tended to be given smaller and inconsequential parts. Amy was determined to succeed and eventually she was offered bigger parts beginning at The 70s, the movie Varsity Blues. Amy then moved into leading parts in 2005's romantic comedy Just Friends starring Ryan Reynolds. Amy finally got the recognition she'd been seeking since the age of 10. She continued with important films, including the Crank series with Jason Statham and the series Shameless where she played an adored recurring character.
