April Ross
April Ross was one of only a few women beach volleyball stars who won medals in several Olympics. Alix Klineman has become a brand new Olympian who will be joining her in Tokyo. Ross's aim is to get her first Olympic gold medal. With her age of 39, this may be her last chance to win the gold medal at an Olympics. The athlete is optimistic she'll be successful in achieving top honours. Ross stated to NBC Boston that if they are at their absolute best or play a great game her team will be able to win the gold medal. It's also going to be the result of luck. Ross is born in the year 1982. Costa Mesa California where she resided with her parents and her sister. Her athletic career began at Newport Harbor High School where she played in a variety of different sports. In her time as a college athlete she was also a participant in indoor track and volleyball. But she clearly was an edge over the other players in the latter sport. Based on her bio, she was a middle blocker and outside hitter on the volleyball court during her high-school career. For her efforts, she was honored as in 1999 as the Gatorade Champion of Champions Circle of Champions Player of the Year. Also, she won the 1999 Orange County Athlete of the Year trophy for volleyball. Although Ross Klineman and Ross have been doing their thing since 2017, the former was already a big-time participant on the beaches long before their pairing. The American has been a major winner in events twice, with various partners. One of them is an icon in the volleyball world. Jennifer Kessy was her partner during six years from 2007 to 2013. She also coached Klineman as well as herself. Kessy was Ross's teammate at the World Championships in 2009. At the 2012 Olympic Games, they won a gold medal. The Misty Maytreanor legendary team along with Kerri Jennings were the winners of gold. It was fate that had them. Ross turned out to be Walsh Jennings' new partner after May-Treanor's retirement. They both won bronze in beach volleyball at the Rio Olympics of 2016. Following high school, and for a few many years before hitting the sand professionally, Ross played to the Trojans at USC while an collegiate. It was a successful performance for Ross during her time at the university. She was an All-American as well as Pac-10 freshman of the year in 2000 as a young freshman. The team also saw her help in helping the Trojans reach into the Final Four. The Trojans suffered a significant personal loss in her sophomore, yet was able to achieve the All-American distinction. In her last two seasons with the Trojans program, she coached the Trojans to winning a national title every time. In 2003-04, Ross was named the best collegiate female volleyball player in the US by The Honda Sports Award. Ross studied at USC in International Relations. Margie Ross was never able to watch her daughter's climb to the beach volleyball spotlight. Ross's mom died from breast carcinoma in the year 2001. Ross had just become sophomore at USC. However, she keeps her parent close to heart. Margie remains a constant source of inspiration for her both in and out of the water.
