Charlotte Church (born February 21 the 21st of February, 1987) was an opera performer hailing from Llandaff Wales in the United Kingdom. Welsh musician and singer known for her pop, classical and jazz recordings. She has sold over 10 million albums worldwide. Crazy Chick is her biggest success. Church had hoped to be chosen as Hermione Grenger in the Harry Potter film but Church was actually hoping for Emma Watson to take on the role. Emma Watson took the place of Church. Church was born Charlotte Maria Reed in Llandaff an area of Cardiff Wales the daughter of Maria (nee Cooper) and Stephen Reed a computer engineer. Her father, Stephen Reed, left Charlotte with her mother when she was two. Charlotte was later fostered by her mother. Her family was Roman Catholic. Maria Church got married to James Church in 1992. Charlotte was adopted by James Church in 1999. She has 4 siblings, two younger brothers and sisters through her biological grandparents Luke and Alexander as well as two older step siblings Elisha and Andrew of their adoptive fathers prior marriage. She got her first big break singing Andrew Lloyd Webber Pie Jesu on the television program This Morning over the phone. This performance was then followed up by the ITV's Big Big Talent Show. The first appearance was as the youngest participant on the program, followed by the appearance in the role of host. In 2005 on a sketch for The Catherine Tate Show she performed her character Joannie Taylor. In 2008, she was a guest in a sketch on Katy Brand's Big Ass Show.
